"We have installed sensor monitors at 3 locations to detect sources of air pollution. What does this mean? This means that every citizen of the municipality of Strumica is an inspector from today and will be able to monitor concentrations of PM2.5 particles from the sensor monitors, and this application will also be implemented in the Inspection Services of the municipality of Strumica, where air pollution will be monitored around the clock, and they will be able to react quickly to sanction negligent polluters. After electrified public transport and bicycle paths, with this innovative project, we prove that we are seriously investing in reducing air pollution in Strumica."

“Putting the power of air quality monitoring from institutions into the hands of communities is a game changer – every citizen, at any moment, can monitor air quality at any location in the city. Every politician must know that making decisions that improve air quality are standards that will protect us ourselves. Cooperation between local and central government is needed to determine an Action Plan for improving air quality. We're going to continue to inform the community, we're going to raise awareness around air quality in our state, we're going to work with the state and federal governments and local governments to make better choices about the infrastructure they're investing in, but also their policies for the future as well around fuel quality standards and emission standards in our state, and also obviously the community every day. We want them to make informed choices about the transport they're going to use in the future.

The information we get from the Clarity sensors and the air health monitoring has helped us shape a lot of what we're doing under our sustainability pillar. Having access to this data helps us in one of our key objectives for the city, which is to attract residents to the city in the future.”

Having a larger network of sensors where we have a better resolution of where air pollution is worse or better will be beneficial in allowing us to change behaviors, educate people more, or do all sorts of things to improve the health of those people

It has been great to be able to work with such a large number of students and share live local air quality data with them. All the schools have seen the benefit in understanding what the data is telling them, and how this can be used to inform decisions about how and when to travel.

"In 2020, we installed 50 sensors in the city of Bishkek. Since the Clarity Node-S sensors installed in Bishkek are small, we installed them all over the city. We placed some of them near roads, some in residential areas, and some in social facilities. Thanks to the Global SIM Card which is incorporated in the sensors, we get the data directly to our system which allows us to visualize the data. The data is ready for analysis.”

We work mainly with the local authorities for deploying the Node-S devices — with the local council. The community has been really helpful and has made a big difference. The majority of the Nodes are up on street lamps around the town.

Hyperlocal pollution data is vital to assess the air quality, to help spread awareness, and to start making change. As soon as people understand the air they're breathing, they can start to make real positive change.

We use our reference network with collocated Node-S devices to make estimates of the interactions between the pollutants. This also helps us to make adjustments for the weather conditions like relative humidity, how damp is the air, how hot is the air.
