"The impact of the project has been great in the sense that we have revolutionized the air quality landscape, and the Clarity air quality sensors have been instrumental to the impact that we have achieved. The citizenry is now more aware of air pollution issues. We started the mother project in 2019 when not a lot of the population was aware of air pollution. With Clean Air Fund coming into the landscape and supporting projects like ours, we’ve been able to create more public awareness."

“Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has achieved a historic milestone by launching a real-time air quality monitoring dashboard. City residents can access live air quality updates, location-specific AQI, and an interactive map with a color-coded system ranging from good (green) to hazardous (red). With 18 Clarity air quality sensors installed across the city, the system supports evidence-based policymaking and promotes public awareness to safeguard the health of all—especially youth and vulnerable groups.”

“The air quality data provided by the Dashboard will serve as a foundation for designing policies, allocating budgets, and developing programs to address urban public health challenges.”

"Clarity’s innovative technology has significantly improved our understanding of urban air pollution and its impact on public health and the environment. The system’s accuracy, reliability, and user-friendly interface have proven to be extremely effective tools for both decision-makers and the public. It provides real‑time, accessible data that enables informed policy development and empowers citizens with the knowledge to take action. This initiative has been highly appreciated by local authorities, environmental specialists, and the general public.”

"We have installed sensor monitors at 3 locations to detect sources of air pollution. What does this mean? This means that every citizen of the municipality of Strumica is an inspector from today and will be able to monitor concentrations of PM2.5 particles from the sensor monitors, and this application will also be implemented in the Inspection Services of the municipality of Strumica, where air pollution will be monitored around the clock, and they will be able to react quickly to sanction negligent polluters. After electrified public transport and bicycle paths, with this innovative project, we prove that we are seriously investing in reducing air pollution in Strumica."

“With Clarity's hyperlocal network, we can begin to provide a more complete picture of how air pollution is occurring in a given micro region, and what preventive actions we need to take to minimize exposure. We can also measure the effectiveness of each activity taken by measuring concentrations BEFORE and AFTER that activity. This encourages us to think about policies that we want to change. It raises citizen awareness and creates a narrative that influences positive change. We need to know what the air is like NOW AND IMMEDIATELY, at each MICRO location, to react IMMEDIATELY, and to sanction those who are disrupting our health, the future of our youngest, and the future of our country. Every citizen of the municipality of Strumica has a strong ally in such innovative technology."

“Putting the power of air quality monitoring from institutions into the hands of communities is a game changer – every citizen, at any moment, can monitor air quality at any location in the city. Every politician must know that making decisions that improve air quality are standards that will protect us ourselves. Cooperation between local and central government is needed to determine an Action Plan for improving air quality. By implementing such a project in the municipality of Strumica, we have taken the first step (and the most important) towards such cooperation."

"Now that we have collected a couple of years of data, we are starting a new phase of our project, which is analyzing the data and drafting our first reports. Clarity is helping us put together two internal reports and two public reports. In terms of internal reports, the first one is purely technical and allows our team to be more efficient and proactive in the maintenance of our network. As an example, it allows us to have 95% of our sites with uptimes greater than 95%. The second internal report aims to support our public policy team to advocate and influence for taking actions for better and cleaner air in WA, Western Australia.”

We're going to continue to inform the community, we're going to raise awareness around air quality in our state, we're going to work with the state and federal governments and local governments to make better choices about the infrastructure they're investing in, but also their policies for the future as well around fuel quality standards and emission standards in our state, and also obviously the community every day. We want them to make informed choices about the transport they're going to use in the future.

The information we get from the Clarity sensors and the air health monitoring has helped us shape a lot of what we're doing under our sustainability pillar. Having access to this data helps us in one of our key objectives for the city, which is to attract residents to the city in the future.”

Having a larger network of sensors where we have a better resolution of where air pollution is worse or better will be beneficial in allowing us to change behaviors, educate people more, or do all sorts of things to improve the health of those people

It has been great to be able to work with such a large number of students and share live local air quality data with them. All the schools have seen the benefit in understanding what the data is telling them, and how this can be used to inform decisions about how and when to travel.

At RAC we're all about leading change for the better — and what could be more important than having cleaner air to breathe for current and future generations of Western Australians?

"The devices worked and the data was much better than other low-cost sensor data — Clarity pays attention to and cares about trying to get as accurate data as possible.”

"People want to know what’s really happening with their local air quality. The ability to have an answer back to students, parents, and teachers within seconds is invaluable."

"The data provided by the sensors helped to speed up the city’s decision-making. Today, the sensor readings have had a direct impact on public opinion. This year, we launched public ecological transport and eco-taxi, and we are launching a new system of dedicated public transport lanes that will directly affect the transition to eco-friendly modes of transportation.”

"Today we have 50 Clarity sensors in Almaty that provide us with online data on the type of particles and pollution in different parts of the city. Thanks to these sensors, we can plan environmental measures in Almaty.”

"In 2020, we installed 50 sensors in the city of Bishkek. Since the Clarity Node-S sensors installed in Bishkek are small, we installed them all over the city. We placed some of them near roads, some in residential areas, and some in social facilities. Thanks to the Global SIM Card which is incorporated in the sensors, we get the data directly to our system which allows us to visualize the data. The data is ready for analysis.”

"We don’t have a lot of staff time to spend setting up or fine-tuning this equipment — Clarity’s managed service model allows us to multiply the number of sensors in our network with minimal additional overhead on our end. We're going from six particulate matter monitors to more than 20 — with one placed in each local municipality — so we expect to have more granularity in looking at how smoke impacts people across our three-county jurisdiction."

"We needed high-density data to develop a model that was representative of a real situation on a very local scale – so multiple devices and multiple locations. The Clarity Node-S was ideal for this use case."

"Success doesn’t stop at measurement. We engaged in community-based planning with our community partners. We worked with neighbors to have intimate environmental justice listening sessions. We also had a self-guided EJ Tour where folks could walk around their neighborhood, looking at our data map, and then mark down things that they saw in the neighborhood that might be concerning. And we had a couple of fun virtual block parties, too!"

"We are very happy with the Dashboard — it makes it very easy to access and review data from our network."

"Clarity’s team helped facilitate our understanding of the air quality space as a whole. We are now checking in with the Clarity team about once a month to touch base about the network and learn how to use the Clarity Dashboard. Having all of our data available in a secure web portal is very useful, especially as we prepare data reports. Brightline wants to make sure we can take all these data streams and analyze them to highlight important air quality issues that the community should know about."

"We couldn’t have done it with any other air quality monitoring solution. With their unique ability to operate off-grid, Clarity’s Node-S provided the ability to site our air quality monitors in the locations that mattered most to community members in Richmond. The data are reliable, real-time, and hyperlocal, and our network is now being used as a blueprint for AB 617, a landmark regulation that empowers communities to take control of air pollution."

"Clarity provided an off-the-shelf solution that was easy to deploy. Clarity Nodes are easy to set up and after reviewing a co-location we had in place, the data was in line with our expectations. The flexibility in changing the data capture rate was key — I was able to remotely configure the nodes to collect data at a higher or lower resolution as needed."

We work mainly with the local authorities for deploying the Node-S devices — with the local council. The community has been really helpful and has made a big difference. The majority of the Nodes are up on street lamps around the town.

Hyperlocal pollution data is vital to assess the air quality, to help spread awareness, and to start making change. As soon as people understand the air they're breathing, they can start to make real positive change.

We use our reference network with collocated Node-S devices to make estimates of the interactions between the pollutants. This also helps us to make adjustments for the weather conditions like relative humidity, how damp is the air, how hot is the air.

“I am delighted that Londoners will now have access to real-time, accurate air quality data for their area from more than 400 monitoring sites. This will improve awareness and help people reduce their exposure to polluted air and better target efforts on improving air quality at a local level.”

"The Clarity Node-S is light, it has a small solar panel, and it's reliable. We can put them anywhere. All of those things combined mean it is super easy for communities to put them up by themselves."

"Clarity's air quality monitoring solutions are playing a significant role in our efforts to raise awareness and educate our students and communities on the importance of air quality."

"A program is only half the program when you have the data, and the other half is what information the community will have so that they know what actions to take to protect themselves, to protect their family, their employees, and just their community members in general."

"Clarity’s commitment to collaborating with leading research institutions across the world has enhanced the potential for the research, development, and deployment of environmental monitoring for the benefit of society."

"The best thing I can say about Clarity is the reduction of effort by our air monitoring staff. Very little hands-on work is required to operate the equipment, which from a management standpoint is a real benefit to the District. It's implemented quickly, we can start streaming the data immediately, and we really don't have to do much more than that.”

“Clarity’s state-of-the-art monitors are the backbone of our Environmental Justice work in Grand Rapids. Accurate data is critical to our team and our community.”

"The Node-S is solar powered, has impressive battery life, and transmits data via cellular network. That means we could put these monitors anywhere that the sun shines and you can make a cell call. After the Marshall fire we installed a total of 22 monitors in the burn area. "

“There's less maintenance with Clarity’s compact Node-S device — remote monitoring of device health means less cost to actually go to that particular site for maintenance. That time and cost-saving measure is critical for our business.”

"Clarity was our first-choice air quality monitoring provider for several reasons. We enjoyed working with the Clarity team - they are highly knowledgeable and always responsive. The Node-S devices themselves are also incredibly resilient, which was especially important for us when deploying the monitors in emergency conditions during the wildfire events this past year."

"Clarity works very nicely for our wildfire air monitoring network. Their sensors are very quick to install and very easy to use, thanks to the native solar panel and cellular antenna. Not having to use somebody else's WiFI in a remote location is great — that had been a major issue for us with several projects.”

“We're a nonprofit, so we don't have a ton of capacity to mess around with tech. Clarity devices are easy to deploy and solar-powered, so you can put them in parks, on rooftops, wherever — and they just work. We can focus on working with our community members.”

“Addressing community concerns and improving public health are the primary goals of any air quality program. The Clarity Nodes we have deployed are placed near sensitive populations and projects as a way of better protecting the health of our residents and better informing our decisions around air quality.”

"We wanted a network that would get real-time data out to the public immediately and show air quality changes in real-time — which we had been unable to do with our network of reference-grade equipment alone."

“The Know Your Air Network provides us with vital air quality information that can be used to inform real-time decisions to protect the health and well-being of our school communities. This air quality sensor network is unparalleled in its size and scope, demonstrating Los Angeles Unified’s commitment to providing the safest learning environment for our students.”

"Having the sensor on site is great for our school and a nice service to offer our surrounding community. Our device went in about 3 years ago and is working great! It is so important for us to know our air quality. Whenever it hits unhealthy levels, we keep our students inside. The data is available right on my phone, so I can check it ahead of recess and make a real-time decision on whether to send students outside or keep them on an indoor activity schedule when air quality is over the threshold. "

“We chose Clarity because they provided up-to-date, local, scientifically-backed, and relevant data to make decisions about whether to keep students inside. Because of the geography and demographics in our county, the official air monitoring stations are about an hour away with hills in between, providing irrelevant data. We would have poor air quality and the official stations would be cleared; or the official stations would show heavy particulate levels and we would have clean air."

"Air quality is a hidden issue in the sense that it's become so embedded in aspects of urban life in San Francisco. It can be a challenge for residents who have been living in the neighborhood for a long time to articulate what their air quality issues are. Some have just accepted it as a way of life.”
